Taking One For The Team
A couple weeks ago, Gremio defender Josh was hurt on a play and had to leave the game with a cut on his leg. We finally have evidence of the injury. Make your own judgment, as did Kevin, "I think the dude is faking it.....just saying". Josh hopes to be back in action for the playoffs in two weeks.
Soy Celeste
Congratulations to URUGUAY, the 2011 Copa America winners!

Gremio Blanked
In one of the most defensive games of the history of YSC, Gremio was blanked by FPR losing a close game by the score of 1-0. The only goal came off a free-kick from inside the box and GK Berg had no chance. Sory led the defense on an outstanding night but the offense couldn't connect for the tying goal.
Up next, Gremio will have a double header next Tuesday Aug 2. First game at 8:48pm vs. Roslyn followed by at 9:30pm match vs. Hunter.

Slow Start Ends In Blowout Win
Gremio Coed beat Thundersnow 5-1 last night. Despite the blowout score, the tricolor had some difficulties to win the game. David scored for a 1-0 lead but Thundersnow responded right back tying the game. Gremio had control of the game with good passes but was struggling to finish the plays. That was until Arsene made it 2-1 finishing off a pass from Mauricio. Then, the game turned into a scoring fest. David scored his second of the game and Melissa scored off a nice feed from Karin. It was Melissa's first goal since the historical playoff goal last season. Gina put final numbers to the match, 5-1.
Gremio Coed is back in action next Wednesday against Rovers.

Gremio Returns To Form
Gremio defeated Roslyn 4-2 getting back to the winning mode in a night of beautiful goals. Rick scored a tap-in stealing a goal from Paul for a 1-0 lead. Paul made it 2-0 but Roslyn cut the lead in half. Then, Brendan won 5 headers in a row with the last one setting up Dave, who lobbed the ball for a beauty, 3-1. Paul made 4-1 on a beautiful shot from the top of the box. Roslyn scored again but Jon B. almost saved it but the ball went off the post and in.
Gremio is now in 2nd place with 12 points (4-1-0). The next game will be against FPR, the current leader and only undefeated team. With a win, the tricolor will take over first place in the standings.

Gremio Coed Wins Wild Game
In one of the craziest games in its 4-year history, Gremio defeated Poundin' Mitts by the score of 5-4.
The wild match had everything weird you can possibly imagine, from Sory scoring two own goals to Josh leaving the game with a huge gash on his shin, from YSC finally giving us the CHAMPS t-shirts from last season to Mauricio scoring 4 goals.
It started very normal. Mauricio sent a through ball and Kevin hit a beautiful one-timer for a 1-0 lead. Minutes later, Sory passed to Mauricio who fired a low shot for his first goal of the night and a 2-0 lead.
But things started to derail when Poundin' Mitts cut the lead to 2-1. Then an flagrant foul on Josh led to the tying goal. Josh had to leave the game with a huge cut on his leg and Kevin left the game as well to drive Josh to the hospital.
Shorthanded, Gremio lost its groove and Sory had an unfortunate own goal and the tricolor trailed 3-2.
Right off the kickoff, Mauricio and Karin made a beautiful give-and-go to tie the game at 3.
But a second unlucky bounce saw Sory scored his second of the night, own goal there is, and Gremio was down once more, 4-3.
Despite short two players and with all bounces going the wrong way, Gremio found the way to walk away with a W. Mauricio tied the game on a beautiful free-kick "a la Forlan", 4-4.
In the late stages of the game, Karin found Mauricio on the top of the box, and he hit the game winner for the final score, 5-4.
Gremio Coed improved to 3-0-0 and stay in 1st place with 9 points. Next week, Gremio will take on Shooters at 10pm.

Gremio Rolls Over Delco Christian
Gremio continues its perfect summer season with another impressive victory in the books, a 6-0 smashing of Delco Christian.
Despite missing top scores Paul and David, the tricolor figured different ways to find the back of the net and GK Chris Berg stopped all shots for his first shutout of the season.
In fact, Berg added an assist to his perfect game on the opening goal, on a sensational long throw to Mauricio, who cut the defender with a slick move, and shot far side for a 1-0 lead.
Rick made it 2-0 after Jon Elison fired a rocket from the top of the 18, the GK couldn’t hold and Rick just put it in for his first goal since returning to the lineup. Mauricio made it 3-0, followed by a goal by Brendan 4-0. Pete also netted and Rick put final numbers scoring his second goal, as Gremio improved to 3-0-0 this season leading the standings with 9pts.
Gremio will be back in action next week Tuesday July 12th at 6:40pm vs. Team Pookie.

Gremio Defeats FC Cadiz
Gremio has improved to a 2-0-0 start after defeating FC Cadiz by the score of 3-2.
Paul scored 2 goals and David netted the game winner in a game Gremio missed several scoring opportunities, including a breakaway with Jon Elison and David, and when David passed the ball to Jon, the veteran defender tried to pass the ball back instead of scoring,
"I'm still lamenting my decision not to pull the trigger and shoot!!" says Jon.
Gremio will be back in action this Tuesday at 7:24pm vs. Delco Christian.

Gremio Coed Smokes Past Our Prime
The name couldn't fit better. Past Our Prime is a nice compliment to that kind of team. Gremio Coed had not mercy to pile up goals ending with a 9-4 win against the funny looking name team.
Arsene put Gremio on the board to make it 1-0. David with a couple goals put the tricolor up 3-0. On a lucky shot POP, made it 3-1 before Mauricio on a left foot rocket made it 4-1.
The goal of the night came on a lob goal from 30 yards out, when Mauricio lob the ball over the GK and in for a 5-1 lead. Tired of scoring, he went to net, where he sucks so bad.
Nevertheless, Gremio kept scoring with Karin, finally, scoring 2 goals, for a 7-1 lead. Mauricio let one in for a 7-2 score, before a PK brought life to the game and the douche beat Mauricio for a 7-3 score.
Nonetheless, Gina and John scored for Gremio, for a 9-3 lead before the losers netted another one for the final 9-4 score.
Gremio improved to 2-0-0 with 19 goals scored and only 5 allowed in 2 games.
