Gremio Coed Speeds Past SpeedWalkers

Gina scored a goal, and Jesse had some important saves
Gremio Coed started the winter session on a winning note defeating SpeedWalkers by the score of 5-3. Led by a 2-goal performance by Karin, the tricolor also had goals from Kevin, Gina and Berg. Gremio established a 4-0 lead but had to hold off SpeedWalkers comeback attempt to make it to 4-3, until Karin scored the insurance goal for the final score.

Helluva a Win

Mauricio netted the game winner with less than a minute left
No subs, no problem. Gremio displayed one of the best outings in recent years defeating Chi City Chi Rats by the score of 2-1 last night. A very shorthanded squad was missing Sory, Evan, Brendan and Jon B. With no subs for the entire game, the tricolor found itself playing against a bunch of young guys and plenty of subs but Gremio stepped up. A long ball and a tricky header flick put Gremio down 1-0 but the response came quickly. Paul took a corner kick and found Pete in front of the net for the tying mark. Pete continues his solid play and scoring streak, netting a goal per game. Late in the game and running out of legs, Gremio was content with a tie but a great counter attack set up by Rick and Paul ended up with a poor clear and Mauricio ripped home the game winner with one minute left in the game. GK Chris Berg was the man of the match with a dozen of great saves and Kevin and Jon Elison get honorable mention for their solid and steady effort on defense. Gremio will be back in action next Tuesday versus U Penn at 6:09pm.

Gremio Wins Season Opener

Gremio kicked off the winter session 2 with a solid 4-3 win over ReUKnighted. Paul scored for the tricolor but ReUKnighted responded with three goals.  Trailing 3-1, Pete and Jack scored to tie the game and set up a sensational finish. With less than 2 minutes in the game, Pete found Mauricio wide open on the top of the box, Mauricio fired a shot but it was blocked, Paul grabbed the rebound and scored the game winner. The game would end with a controversial call, when the referee blew the whistle for a foul with seconds remaining, ReUKnighted had no time to take the free kick, and it was all over. Gremio wins 4-3.
