Blue Bombers Shot Down By Gremio

Gremio Coed continues its perfect season after blanking the Blue Bombers 3-0 on Wednesday night.
John and Brian had a split-shutout as the tricolor improved to 4-0-0 and leads the league with 12 points.

Feels Like A Win

Sometimes a tie feels like a win. Gremio felt just like that last night after walking away with a last minute goal to tie FC Force 4-4 in the rematch of the first game of the season.
The tricolor depleted squad was resilient despite missing Paul (away), Rick (injured), and Sory (MIA) but called up help from Brandon, who made his Gremio debut.
FC Force jumped to a 1-0 lead but David tied the game on a nice placement shot. FC Force scored 2 more goals but Gremio responded. Brandon scored finishing off a feed from Mauricio, after a nice give and go play with David. After Garrett won a battle for the ball in the midfield, Mauricio was able to fire a shot past the GK to tie the game 3-3.
Then, goalkeeper Chris Berg best describe the end of the game:
"After a suspect call on a corner by Ref. Keith, Gremio went down 4-3. But their resilience shined through the darkness as the captain, Mauricio, slotted a shot past the keeper for the tying goal off a nice pass from Kevin" he said.
Gremio is now 1-1-2 and will play Weder Bromen on Mon Dec.27 at 7:45pm at field A.
Merry Christmas!!!

Freezing Payback

Moxie FC beat Gremio earlier this season on a game the tricolor should have won, if it wasn't for Fat Ref Frank the real Tank checking his phone instead of calling a goal on a ball off the crossbar that bounced in and out of the goal. The tricolor was awarded a rematch and took care of business. Gremio beat Moxie FC 5-3 on a freezing cold Monday night showdown at skinny field 3.
David scored 2 goals and Pete and Mauricio also found the back of the net. The highlight goal was scored by Jon B. on a nice header, his first of the season, off a perfect throw-in by Pete.

Bad Call Costs Gremio

A bad "no-goal" call cost Gremio its first loss of the season against Moxie FC 3-2. Mauricio and Jon Elison scored for the tricolor but what it would have been the game-winning goal was not called by the ref. With the game tied 2-2, Mauricio shot off the crossbar and in but the ref was too busy checking his messages and could not call it a goal. Moxie scored moments later. Gremio will now play Just Kickin In looking for the first win.

Nevertheless, the tricolor stormed back to tie the game and keep the unbeaten streak alive. Steve scored the 2 goals and Mauricio had what it would have been the game-winner on a controversial shot. The ball exploded off the crossbar, bounced inside the goal line and out. The call was no goal. "It's physics, you can tell by the rubber pellets," said Mauricio. If you want to find out more about this, talk to Jay next time he goes to Hooters.

Lesson Learned

J.G.Wentworth was the last team to beat Gremio last season. But not this time.
Gremio came out flying and took advantage of JGW short squad walking away with a 5-3 win.
Goals were scored by Mauricio, Jay, Brian, Kevin and Mellisa, her first for Gremio on a nice feed by Brian.
Scott decided to help them out in the second half and was rewarded by getting hit in the face in 3 shots, "That's what happens when you want to play against your team," said Mauricio.
If you play for Gremio, don't play against Gremio. Lesson learned.

The rain and the wet conditions couldn’t stop Gremio as the tricolor improved to 2-0-0 this season after an 8-0 victory over FC Fight Club last night.
